Development of the Internet
- 1957 - ARPA [Advanced Research Projects Agency] designed to link university computers and researchers to assist in conducting research on computers and networking.
- 1969 - the first node of ARPANET was created, and many other networks connected including EARN [European Academic and Research Network] and JANET [the Joint Academic Network].
- The World Wide Web was developed by CERN [1989-92] [Centre Europe an pour le Recherche Nucleaire].
- There is no single group in charge of the Internet.
