BASIC PC ARCHITECTURE: A computer can be broken into five functionalcomponents. This is the basic architecture of all PC's.
CPU The CPU (Central Processing Unit) is the brains of the PC. This is where
data is added subtracted, multiplied and divided.
Input A input device such as a keyboard or mouse, provides information which
Output A output device is a device that receives data from the CPU. Such as a
printer or video monitor etc.
Memory Memory is a temporary storage device for data used by the CPU.
Data is lost when the PC is turned off.
Storage A storage device stores data permanently, even when you turn off the PC.
A floppy drive, hard drive or tape backup are types of storage devices, they also
can be labeled as input & output devices too.
