Grants Week
Grants Week this year is focused primarily on early career researchers and their successful scientific careers
- Are you a PhD student or a postdoc looking to gain the skills needed for effective project management and successful grant writing? Join the seminars "Empowering Early Career Scientists in Project Management and Grant Writing," which will take place on November 11 from 9 AM to 12 PM at UKB, seminar room 111/D30 - INBIT. - As early career researchers, you will also gain an overview of Czech grant schemes, internal funding opportunities at MU, and foreign research grants and scholarships. Attend the seminars "Funding Opportunities for Early Career Scientists," which will take place on November 12 from 9 AM to 12 PM at UKB, seminar room 111/D30 - INBIT. Registration here.
- Project managers, administrators, and researchers at all career stages will be introduced to various programs and challenges suitable for funding basic and applied research from national and international sources. - There will also be seminars focused on early career scientists regarding European programs, specifically on the support of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships at MU, the pathway to the role of MSCA-PF supervisor, Global Fellowship in the USA, support from ERC at MU, the journey from ERC Starting to successful Junior Star, translating ERC results into Proof of Concept, and much more. For vice-deans, directors, department heads, and group leaders, there are seminars titled "Widening in Horizon Europe: Accessible international funding for strategic purposes," covering various aspects of this accessible international funding source for strategic goals - an overview of Widening and its support at MU, the Pathways to Synergies scheme from the researchers' perspective, Excellence Hubs from the project managers' perspective, strategic use of Twinning projects, and the ERA Chairs CETE-P project. L’Oréal not just for beauty, but also for science!
Women scientists can apply for the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program by December 31, 2024, at the latest. The program annually recognizes three exceptional women scientists, who will receive a financial award of 200,000 CZK and media support for their scientific work.
